Terms of Service

ClassThread is an AI-assisted tool that helps UK teachers plan curricula, adapt lesson resources for accessibility needs, and generate differentiated materials. The service is provided via classthread.co.uk, including a limited free trial available without creating an account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use ClassThread, including the free trial. By using the service you confirm that you are a teacher, educator, or education professional. ClassThread is intended for professional educational use only.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@classthread.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You agree not to:

• Upload files containing personally identifiable pupil data (names, dates of birth, addresses, or any data that could identify an individual pupil)
• Use ClassThread to generate harmful, discriminatory, or unlawful content
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the service or its underlying technology
• Share your account credentials with others
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Attempt to circumvent any usage limits, tier restrictions, or security measures, including attempting to access the free trial more than once through cookie clearing, multiple devices, or other means
• Use ClassThread in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts, or restrict trial access, that violate these terms without notice.

You retain ownership of any content you upload to ClassThread. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload complies with your school's data protection policies and does not contain personally identifiable pupil data. If you upload content containing pupil names or other identifying information, you do so as the data controller for that data and are solely responsible for any resulting data protection obligations.

Content generated by ClassThread using AI is provided for your professional use as a teacher. You retain ownership of outputs generated for you. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your generated content.

You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before using it with pupils. ClassThread does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or curriculum compliance of generated content. Generated content should be treated as a starting point and reviewed by a qualified teacher before use.

You grant ClassThread a limited licence to use aggregated, anonymised usage patterns to improve the service. We will never use your specific content or outputs to train AI models without your explicit consent.

ClassThread is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will meet your specific requirements or be suitable for any particular purpose.

AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or content that requires professional review. You assume full responsibility for how you use generated content.

ClassThread offers a free trial tier and paid subscription plans. We will give at least 30 days' notice before making material changes to what is included in the free trial.

We may change our subscription prices from time to time. For existing subscribers, any price change will not take effect until your next renewal, and we will notify you by email at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before your next renewal takes effect. Continuing your subscription after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Subscription fees for paid plans are charged in advance. Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Where you request immediate access to a paid feature or generated content before the 14-day cooling-off period ends, you expressly consent to immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that you thereby waive your right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 in relation to that specific content already delivered. This does not affect your right to cancel your ongoing subscription itself within the 14-day period for any future billing.

We aim to keep ClassThread available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We will aim to give advance notice of planned downtime where possible.

ClassThread, its branding, interface, and underlying technology are owned by ClassThread Ltd. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property except the right to use the service as described herein.

ClassThread is provided as a professional productivity tool. We are not liable for any decisions made based on AI-generated content, including any impact on pupils, curriculum outcomes, or inspection results.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClassThread shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability to you in any circumstances shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at hello@classthread.co.uk. We will aim to resolve any issues informally within 14 days. If we are unable to resolve the matter informally, either party may pursue the matter through the courts.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@classthread.co.uk.

On termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days unless we are required by law to retain it. Backup copies may be retained for up to 90 days.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ClassThread regarding your use of the service, and supersede any prior agreements, representations, or communications, whether written or oral.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
